How to get rid of overthinking

First, we should understand what overthinking really is – it is a loop of Negative thoughts in our mind that breeds fast and keeps us fearful, confused and makes us feel low all the time.

This often happens with someone, who has had bad experiences, multiple failures in a row in the past and those people who does not gets appreciated by their loved once.

Anchoring and higher expectations from one self plays as big trigger to those who experience frequent overthinking and emotional bursts.

There are few practices you can do to get rid of overthinking.

1. Always keep low expectations in the areas of life where you feel overwhelmed most of the time or you had bad experiences in the past instead say yourself that you have many options to choose from this is not the only one.

2. Always prioritise action – whenever you notice yourself overthinking and getting overwhelmed. Consider yourself a fool for a minute and just act towards whatever is troubling, keep aside your reputation.

3. Challenge yourself – create a challenge in your mind that if you get that thing done which you are fearful of, you will be rewarded. For illustration – let’s say you are a foodie and like chocolates, keep chocolate as a reward for taking action.
