Staying true to your promises and continuously heading in a direction of growth is one of the toughest things some can do.We all know what is good for us and what we need to do at a basic level to get what we want. Yet we fail to do that so many a times.

We are prone to the changes in our environment and lack of balance, between effort and rest. We make many promises to ourselves at the start yet overtime repeat the same behaviour again.

Like for example take eating healthy as one of the promise you gave yourself. You promised yourself that you will not eat any kind of junk food for next 3 months. After a month when some one says just eat it once. You justify it that I have been not eating junk for these many occasions so for once it’s fine.

This way you end up at the same point where you started and then you regret why things are not the way they should be or why are you not able to get your goals.

One practice
Whenever you feel like breaking your commitment ask your self why you made it in the first place and what was the last experience you had.

So keep your goals so big that others things feel so little and creepy.that you start to feel shameful, if you ever think of breaking your commitment.

Challenge

Take 2 diary write in one what you have to do and in one what you did. Do it daily and then check it after 15 days.

Movie

Watch – the social dilemma

It will teach you what is the all social addiction and whatever these big companies are doing with these tool they have created.

Reflection

Building yourself and destroying your self is all in your hands.

Quote

Focus comes with understanding rest everything is a search.

Procrastination is a perpetual habit of humans to let go the feeling of discomfort. We fall prey to this behaviour on daily basis in some or other form.

You are waiting for something to happen

The people who are unsatisfied, unhappy, unsuccessful are those who wait for the world to serve everything on a platter and enjoy the fruits without creating any form of value in terms of cash or kind. They often delay things unless something just perfect comes up so they can execute on their thinking. Yet waiting for the miracles they don’t reach anywhere in life and then blame the world for whatever happens to them.

Perfection and the dead ends

The people who chase perfection often end up in distraction and pleasure seeking behaviours. They are highly focused on the outcome. The mindset of being a perfect creator makes them paralysed if a single thing does not work as they have expected. Procrastination is just habit of doing things with the effort to make yourself feel good for a moment or two and avoid the uncertainty of anything that is going on in our life.

The easiest way out

People who are perfectionist can really do some simple things to make their and others life easier. As a perfectionist a person is highly outcome focused. His all energy goes into creating certainty of outcome from whatever he does to achieve anything. People with such habits often fear uncertainty and failure.
They can create step by step approach to let go of this mind set.

The following can be done to attain confidence and action

  1. Do some experience to familiarise yourself with the thing you are trying to accomplish.
  2. Learn the fundamentals of the work to be at ease with yourself.
  3. Create practice assignment to bridge the gap between imagination and reality
  4. Then focus on what works and what does not work.
  5. Create a system around what needs to be done to achieve a certain kind of outcome.

Get rid of the laziness

The only thing you need to lower your expectations and take action regardless of whatever the outcome will be, unless we act on something we wish to do everything seems tough. One way to get yourself going is to give your mind a recap of what all you feared in the past and after taking the action has worked in your favour.

Reflection

Systems can be so effective ways to reduce your stress and increase your performance and output.

Why great people are different from the ordinary ?

What is over conscious behaviour ?

The state of self consciousness is when you are so much concerned about the outcome of the event. You often fear negative consequences. These thoughts come to you cause of your past experiences. Consciousness is a flow state. On the other hand, self consciousness is a stressful state, which in turn hampers your focus, productivity and performance in general.

Signs you are over conscious

When you are self conscious. You sweat often when doing a task. You feel anxious, you get frustrated easily, you seek validation from outside world, you avoid situations and things which are not familiar to you.

How to build confidence ?

The question comes to our mind when someone says build your confidence. Yet how should you do that, no one tells you anything specific to act on. The simplest way to build your confidence is to your promises. Match your words and action. No other thing will be required to gain confidence in your life.

What causes over consciousness ?

As a child we seek validation of what is right and wrong from our environment. We do exactly whatever our closed once’s do. If we do something and we are appreciated then we start believing in our thoughts, which then builds up confidence. Yet if we are punished for something and abounded then we lose confidence in our self and start pleasing people to be accepted. Any of the two experiences can highly impact our self esteem. This all can be changed no matter what was our past.

What to do now ?

  • Practice positive self talk
  • Do whatever makes you feel good about yourself
  • Harness your interests
  • Educate yourself to know yourself
  • Keep your promises no matter whatever happens.

Challenge of the week

Do exercise 5 times a week and notice how your confidence and energy changes.

Book of the week

Read – ego is the enemy by Ryan Holiday

It will educate on the forms of ego and how it disconnects you from the reality.

Reflection of the week

When you feel lost then create systems of what you know to bounce back.

I have seen myself saying that I am not interested in things which don’t see valuable enough to deploy my time. I also chose to leave the things which are out of my comfort zone.

Let me share a recent story. We all have some kind of lifestyle. Some people wake up early where others wake up late, some choose to prioritise social life over Personal Life. Many people value productivity more than fun. So there are different beliefs for different people.

I used to one of the person till my collage days. Who used to value personal growth and not usually socialise around with people. Whenever someone asked that let’s go out have fun. My obvious statement was – I am not interested, you go enjoy, I have some work to do for now. I will join you next time.

Then as they left for such parties, occasion or any kind of the event. I was the only left with nothing to do and then eventually waited for my friend’s to return. So we can talk and I also would dig into how was the event. Who all were there for the event.

This was a common thing for me to avoid social occasions. Which on a longer time frame was a good and a bad decision. In a good way, it helped me know myself better, I got more time to understand my weakness, strengths and who I was as a person.

I stretched the idea of personal life so far that it started hurting me. I had no such connections, I was a lone wolf who just did everything by himself. No that much of a big and charming social life. So then I decided to start connecting to people and stop being always focused on the personal space and everything around it.

The day I started reaching out to people with whatever that was on my mind and listening to their stories. It was a life changing experience for me. It gave me many new people to hang around who believed in my ideas, had same aspirations and dreams just like me. I started enjoying this thing even more than my personal endeavours.

I realised that it was not that I was not interested in hanging out and connecting with people yet I was fearing social rejection. I was not so confident. I was always looking that why should I reach out others they should come to me. This was a bad idea I had for a long time. The day I decided to change my mindset. Everything changed for ever.

Now I am more confident, connected, happy, positive and productive.
So a few lessons I learned from these incidences.

  1. Never let your fears over power your choices of what’s interesting and what’s not interesting for you.
  2. Things will change the day you decided to take the step in the direction.
  3. Don’t fall into the trap of commitment and consistency. Just go for the things you want to. Never allow yourself into thinking that what others will react when I choose opposite what I used to say them.
  4. There is no static or one personality type for a person, you can live whichever way you want to and whenever you want. So change it now. If you don’t love the way you live now.
  5. When fears trap your mindset, use the no regret framework – always do it, try it, cause regret way much worse then anything else.

Questions of the week

  1. What makes a thing interesting according to you ?
  2. What is hard – to chase your dreams or to Seattle for your insecurities ?

Challenges of the week

  1. Reach out to one new person every day for the next 15 days.
  2. Commit to any one thing for at least 21days . which you were about to do yet not started cause of any reason.

Book I am reading this week

The sketchbook of wisdom by vishal Khandelwal – it offers timeless principles on wealth, relationships, happiness, health, investing and personal Development in the form of short stories.

Excuses are a common thing most of us do. When we are not looking to do anything that is important for us.

The lazy behaviour only washes away the moment our needs are not met. Why we start focusing when we are problem. It’s because our brain is weird to choose survival.

We all fall prey to this behaviour as humans. The things we often avoid most of the time, a little by little builds up into bigger problem than we had ever thought.

The Reasons for excuses

There are a few reasons we make excuses. This can be a lack of interest, the lack of urgency. It does not affect our daily life directly. There is no commitment to be served. It has instant gains. It is forced on us.

We do not understand the task at hand. The work needs assistance. We fear the consequences. We maybe a perfectionist. It needs long term commitment. There is reward on completing the task. No one to appreciate and many more.

How to get it done and Beat Excuses down

  1. Get it done instantly
  2. Reward yourself on completion.
  3. Make a list
  4. Tell somebody.
  5. Create a deadline.
  6. Make it Personal.
  7. Understand the task.
  8. Break it down into small steps.
  9. Visualise the peace after the completion.
  10. Make it a habit.

Reflect on this simple things and start taking action towards your happiness, peace and fulfilment.

Questions of the day.

  1. Does hard work get you what you want or connections in today’s world ?
Rate the two on a scale of 10.
  2. What you are proud of since last year ?
  3. What makes you special ?

Quote of the day

The time you were waiting for is now

unknown

Challenge Board

  1. Do one thing that you were fearing since last few and share the results to the one you shared about that fear.
  2. Post something you have been long waiting for. it can be anything ( song, video, blog, etc..) it can be of any length.

Blogs are written everyday since a very long time but there is a hype in the use of Artificial Intelligence in 2023. Which lead us into thinking that should we start a blog in 2023 or simply avoid it as artificial intelligence can generate any amount of content within seconds.

How Artificial Intelligence works ?

The artificial intelligence is trained by feeding data into the machine. On the basis of this data the machine develops its intelligence by creating patterns, understanding behaviour from the past data, which is used to develop its responsive intelligence.

It can give you answer from the data available to its exposure. The more data you feed into the machine, the more answers you can get. Which is helpful in getting the repetitive tasks done. Yet the AI is not capable of generating new data and innovating. It is capable to the level of its trained programme. It has no consciousness of its own to decide what is wrong and right, predictability, production etc.

What is a blog ?

A blog is a website on the world wide web. Where we can publish our content. Website is the separate place provided to us on the internet just like real estate on the earth.

Blogs have been long since the start of the internet. It is used on a daily basis by millions of people. While some use them as a medium to share their ideas, insight, experiments and knowledge. Others use them to consume the content, learn and improve their knowledge about something or someone.

9 Things Blogging can help you develop

  1. Higher creativity.
  2. Clarity of expression.
  3. Articulation of thought.
  4. Improve your language and communication skills.
  5. Helps you think clearer, deeper and better.
  6. Makes you an authentic and courageous person.
  7. Helps you build a personal brand.
  8. Connecting to like minded people.
  9. Share your experiences and help others elevate their life’s.

What keeps successful people motivated ?

We come across some crazy people in our life’s, who are passionate, motivated and driven individuals towards a thing they can not let go off their minds. Few examples to consider people like Elon Musk, Steve Jobs etc. These people are often perceived as selfish.

The thing that keeps them up is the willingness to make a change in the lives of others. To give the world something to cherish for a life time. To inspire the human race of what possibilities are their for a human to be. These people often challenge the status quo.

What drives the motivation of normal human beings ?

We as individuals wish for getting as much as possible but in reality not ready to work hard, take risks, go against the crowd. We look mostly for a social proof, personal experiences and the culture around us to develop the understanding of what is right and what is wrong, the process then makes our mindset and perception about things as we grow.

Feelings that drives motivation to act ?

There are a list of feeling which motivate us and shape our perception to take action on something. These are as follows –

  1. Greed
  2. Fear
  3. Envy
  4. Pride
  5. Shame
  6. Altruism

How to be motivated most of the time ?

Being motivated is just a feeling of short term excitement. To be driven for long term, you need to do a few things right.

  • Getting clarity of who you really are outside of your societal, cultural norms and responsibilities.
  • Understanding what kind of life you want, what success means to you, what your present life is like, who you should listen to and why and what you need to do to get where you want to go.
  • Getting answers to these questions is not an easy job yet if you start today figuring it out, you can definitely get them cause they are within you. Once you have an idea of these things, you will not be looking for motivation anymore.

In, 21st Century being happy with we have is getting more and more difficult. As we aspire for more to be done and generate a short term peak happy moments.

We often forget celebrating and cherishing what we have today, what we have achieved till now, being thankful for what we already have is way more underrated among youngsters.

If, I look 2 years from now. The day I started practicing gratitude. It all started making sense to me. I used to hate and blame people for something that I was not able to achieve in my life. The things which I was not able to get done in a certain. It was a go to habit for me to blame some or the other person, often repeating in a dramatic way.

They pushed me into these situation. I am so unlucky. Why everyone treat me like this, why no one listens to me. Waiting for someone to validate something then moving on with my decision and if the outcome was not satisfactory then again the blame game.

The day I started practicing being grateful, for what all I have in whatever way. I started to notice change in myself. Some things happened which are – I started to see problems as opportunities for growth. I started to focus on my self and acting responsibly. It made more comfortable being vulnerable and authentic at the same. I am more happy and peaceful now then ever before.

These are few gratitude practices for you get started and change your mindset for growth, happiness and fulfilment.

  1. Journal Everyday – write about how you felt today about something or someone. Why you are lucky and what ways. What you did today and much more.
  2. Meditate – this practice is underrated by most of the youngsters, you should use this as a reflection tool to know who you are as a person.
  3. Acknowledge – always try to thank anyone, who has in some way, made your life better, easier and happening.
  4. Help Someone – Going out for people selflessly will make you more happy and contribute towards society and make you more empathetic, kind and fulfilled.

Time is infinite in itself but finite for us. We see people who value time are often the one who schedule and plan the most of things they do within a day.

Everyone has their own perception towards time, which is often influenced by the experiences you had in the past, the people they hangout with, their own values, the society they live in, the content they consume and the stories they tell themselves.

For some people time is looked as money. They try to use it with caution and to gain maximum wealth possible. Some consider time to be valuable in terms of experiences. They try to use their time to explore the world around by travelling, socialising and trying new things out.

Some people use their to spend it most with their families, while others go all alone and become inventors, Leaving the world to be a better place for the coming generations just like Thomas Edison.

Different people have different perception of the time which is common for all yet it is most spent and influenced by the things people don’t have in their life.

To illustrate – if someone’s poor and aims to stabilise his financial conditions, he will value his time as to make the most money. While someone from a prosperous family background will end up utilising their time towards experiential endeavours or making more wealth. It all depends how we use our time.

No matter what you do with your time. It is in its best use, if you are happy and fulfilled at the end.

For a human mind, pain of loosing something is twice in comparison of pleasure of receiving something. Most often as an inexperienced person in any of the domain of life whether it is financial, social, spiritual we fear about the consequences of things that are uncertain.

It is true that fear is a good indicator for our capabilities, knowledge, awareness etc. yet it should be given more value as an experienced individual in anything we do.

Fearing lose, while attempting something new, is a very restrictive approach towards anything you want to grow yourself into.

Most youngsters in their 20s want everything very fast yet they do not want fail at anything that do for the first time. They believe that their are sunk costs associated with whatever they pursue. Which keeps them away from a lot of exposure.

If I talk about my past, I used to be one of these kind of guy when I was 18, I feared somewhat socialising, my perception was like if someone finds out that I am not good enough then it will be very embarrassing. So I mostly kept myself into books and sort of things that would allow me to be on own my own most of the time.

Until, I figured out that, no one cares what happens to your life. So why worry about loosing something which I don’t own at all.

There is always more to gain in life, whatever you choose to do, it will be rather in terms of experience, wealth or relationships.

So, go explore what you want and be yourself as Steve job said – Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.
